Dr. Saad Tayyab,
Ph.D., Reader in the Unit, obtained M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from
A.M.U., Aligarh , visited the laboratory of Professor Warren B. Karp at Medical
College of Georgia, Augusta, USA as a Wood/Whelan Fellow in 1994, published over
40 scientific articles in journals of International repute, has interest and
skills in biochemical education, published numerous articles on science
education, main research interest are fucussed on protein structure-function
relationship, protein folding and stability and bilirubin metabolism and
cytotoxicity, contributed significantly towards the understanding of bilirubin-albumin
binding mechnism, bilirubin-red cell/membrane binding, characterization of
equilibrium intermediates of protein folding pathway of multi-domain protein,
serum albumin, stabilizing effects of salts and organic solvents etc. obtained
funding from ICMR, CSIR, UGC and DST, supervised four Ph.D. students.
